Temporal Tapping

An ancient techniques used originally for pain control in ancient China, but is also surprisingly effective for stress relief, and breaking old habits.

Let’s give it a try

Begin by identifying a habit or health condition you’d like to change.

Describe the change you’d like to bring about in a single sentence, stated as an affirmation in present time, that is, the desired condition already exists. It helps to write it down.

For example you might say,

“Under pressure, I stay calm and centered”

Then restate it, keeping the same meaning but with a negative wording

For example;

“I no longer get stressed under pressure”.

Notice that the meaning is still positive with the negative wordings.

Start tapping on the left side of your head from front to back as shown in the image, with three middle fingers of your left hand. State the negatively worded statement in rhythm as you tap. Tap from front to back about five times making your statement with each pass.

Repeat the techniques on the right side, tapping with your right hand, but this time using your statement in its positively worded form.

Repeat the procedure several times per day. The more you tap in the affirmation, the quicker it takes effect.

To use this technique for pain relief, you could use statements like, for example to relieve knee pains:

a negative statement could be: “I don’t feel pain in my knees anymore”

a positive statement could be: “My knees feel fine and completely healed”

I tapped away my midnight cravings using this technique and I’d like to know how it works for you. Try it and share with us in the comments so we can all learn together.
